Dear David:

I just want to reinforce what I told you over the phone.  Last Saturday, my sister and I hosted a birthday party for my mother, who was turning 90 years old.  At my mother’s suggestion, we met with you and decided to hold the party at Cheers Chalet.  You were very helpful, as we planned our menu and other details.

On Saturday, we arrived to find the tables set and everything ready to go.  It was a very hot day, and your staff had moved the event indoors, instead of on the patio, as we first intended.  I very much appreciate the move!  The room was comfortable, spacious, and all we could have asked for.  Our 31 guests had a great time, and my mother was very pleased.  The food, by the way, was excellent.

Aside from moving the event indoors and providing a fine dinner, I also want to express appreciation for the work Angela and other members of your staff did for us.  They were friendly, helpful, and went the extra mile, when we had a few special requests.  This was an important event in our family, and the folks at Cheers Chalet were a big part of it all.  I hope we have other opportunities to work with you.
